Change of Direction
All of these types of speed training may sound familiar to you at this time, but take one minute and think...lateral, horizontal, and vertical movements....side to side, front and back, up and down...you soon see a basketball player using all three as he or she jumps (vertical) to the sideline, then proceedes to run (horizontal) up the court. Maybe you see a baseball player, a volleyball player, track and field athlete, soccer player, wrestler or hockey player...they all use these movements...often!
Yes, ALL these athletes use speed in one form or another, and ALL can become better...simply by getting faster. It is up to you to put in the work to make it happen!
